Just read this. NYT's story that puts this Scooter thing in context. Are you confused? Do you think this is just so much blahblahblah? Just read that story. Or wait until this becomes the monster story of the coming year, and preempts all your favorite shows.

I remember Watergate, when they kept showing those boring hearings, and nothing good was on (this was back when there were only three networks and PBS). Then all of a sudden, President Nixon told us he had to go home. That was all over lies about a little break in, Republicans ratfucking Democrats to make sure Dick got another term. It wasn't like it was part of a huge operation to convince the American people that we had to go to war and invade another country in spite of all the facts the CIA and others were finding (or not finding).
